The Crown is a historic village pub in Frampton Mansell, built in the seventeenth century as a cider house. Its traditional rooms, local ales and home-cooked food give it a proper country-pub feel, while the surrounding hills make the approach part of the pleasure.
There is a garden and parking, and children and dogs are welcome. It makes a good lunch stop when exploring the Golden Valley or the lanes between Stroud and Cirencester. The inn also offers accommodation, so it can work as more than a quick meal on a countryside day out.
Before you go
The pub is open daily, with food at lunchtime and in the evening; Sunday food is served through the afternoon. Use the current official site or telephone listing to confirm seasonal hours and booking arrangements.
