Tewkesbury Museum is a rewarding pause between the Abbey and the town’s timber-framed streets. Collections range from local trades and everyday life to military objects, models and the town’s distinctive fairground heritage. The displays are personal in scale, offering a close look at objects gathered and interpreted by the community. Allow time for the building as well as the cases; the town’s history continues in the streets outside. Pair it with the John Moore Museum and a walk beside the Severn or Avon. Seasonal opening changes, so check current days and admission. The entrance is at 64 Barton Street.
