Opening hours
Public rights of way can be walked year-round. Church access depends on local opening and services; Lodge Park has separate admission and selected open days.
Location: Sherborne, near Northleach, Gloucestershire GL54 3DW
Sherborne stretches along the brook east of Northleach, with stone cottages and former estate buildings rather than a busy shopping street. St Mary Magdalene Church, the old estate buildings and paths into the surrounding parkland make this a gentle stop away from the busiest villages.
Walk into the estate
The surrounding National Trust Sherborne Park Estate gives the visit its wider setting. Choose a signed route from the estate information, allowing for uneven paths and wet ground. Keep dogs on leads around livestock. Lodge Park’s seventeenth-century grandstand is a separate, ticketed visit on selected open days.
Planning a stop
This is a quiet village and countryside outing. Use designated parking, leave residents’ entrances clear and arrange food elsewhere rather than expecting a row of cafés. Northleach is the useful nearby town to combine with it.
