Ticketed visitor park. Current daily opening and last-admission times are announced on the park’s own Facebook page; use that page before setting out.
Location: Prinknash Bird and Deer Park, Prinknash Abbey Park, Cranham, Gloucester GL4 8EX
Prinknash Bird and Deer Park reopened in late 2025 after several years closed. The refreshed park sits within the Prinknash Abbey estate near Cranham, but it is a separate, ticketed visitor attraction from the abbey and public paths. Its new entrance and rebuilt paths make the landscaped grounds easier to explore at a family pace.
Fallow deer move through the park, while the bird and small-animal collection has included peacocks, waterfowl, chickens, goats and donkeys. The collection may change, so treat a particular animal sighting as a bonus rather than a promise. A picnic area and simple refreshments make it possible to spend longer here than a quick animal stop. The surrounding wooded valley is pleasant in its own right.
The park’s own Facebook page is the best place to check current opening, admission, animal-feed rules and any closure before you travel. Do not assume the abbey estate’s public footpaths give access to the animal park without a ticket. If you need step-free access, ask the park about the current path and entrance conditions.
