Location: Mill Lane, Lower Slaughter, Gloucestershire GL54 2HX
Lower Slaughter’s mill is the village’s most recognisable riverside landmark, with its red-brick chimney and waterwheel beside the River Eye. It makes a natural stopping point on a village stroll or a longer walk from Bourton-on-the-Water.
Enjoy the village setting
Look at the mill from the public lane and bridge, then follow the river through the village. This is an exterior sightseeing stop. Current interior museum, café and shop access has not been verified, so plan refreshments elsewhere and respect private entrances.
Before setting out
The parish has recorded changes and building work at the mill. Keep to public paths, park only where permitted and take care along narrow lanes. For a walk from Bourton, carry a mapped route rather than relying on the river to provide a continuous accessible path.
