Why we like it
The Kings Head sits right on Cirencester’s Market Place, making it one of the easiest bases if you want to walk to the Corinium Museum, shops, New Brewery Arts and the town’s restaurants without thinking about taxis or parking every time you go out.
It combines pub, brasserie, bedrooms and event spaces in a historic building, with rooms that mix period architectural details such as beams and fireplaces with more contemporary interiors.
Food and drink
The pub leans towards hearty classics while the brasserie is the more refined option, with seasonal and local produce prominent across the menus. The central location makes it equally useful for a meal even if you are staying elsewhere.
Who it suits
Best for couples and weekend visitors who want the convenience of being in the middle of town, rather than a remote country-house stay.
Our tip
If location is the priority, this is hard to beat: build the first day entirely on foot, then use the car for villages or the Cotswold Lakes on day two.
