At Down Ampney near Cirencester, Cotswold Driving Experiences is about learning a skill as much as having an adrenaline hit. The programme covers rally driving and 4×4 off-road sessions, plus passenger rides for someone who would rather let an instructor drive. The off-road course uses modified Land Rover Discoveries and includes climbs, descents, water and uneven obstacles.
For a family booking, check the age bands before you choose. The operator offers junior rally driving from age ten and junior 4×4 driving from age twelve, both in dual-control vehicles. Adult rally experiences require a driver aged at least 17 with a licence valid for UK roads. It also advertises adapted rally experiences for disabled drivers, so this is worth discussing directly if accessibility is the deciding factor.
Book the exact package and session time; a voucher alone is not a dated reservation. It is a purpose-built driving site at Down Ampney, not an open track you can drop into. If non-drivers want to watch or ride along, ask what is possible on your chosen activity: some off-road parts are away from the main spectator area.
