Cotswold Alpacas at Korinn Farm in Cowley offers a walk with a little more substance than a quick meet-and-greet. The visit starts by introducing the herd and explaining how alpacas live and are cared for. You then take a gentle walk around the grounds of Cowley Manor with an alpaca, before sitting down for more questions and a look at how the fleece can be spun into yarn.
The operator puts the whole experience at about an hour. It is pitched at couples, families and friends, with special-occasion groups available by arrangement. For someone who likes animals but is unsure about a long hike, the slower pace is part of the appeal; still, ask the farm about terrain and access needs before you reserve.
Book directly with the farm and confirm the meeting point. This is a managed animal experience rather than an open visitor paddock, so turning up without a time is unlikely to work. If the fleece interests you as much as the walk, the farm also runs separate spinning and husbandry courses.
