Lodge Park & Sherborne Estate

A seventeenth-century grandstand opening on selected dates, alongside National Trust estate walks near Sherborne and Northleach.
Opening hours
Sherborne Estate: dawn to dusk. Lodge Park grandstand: ticketed, selected open days only; last admission 3.30pm and its car park closes 4pm on open days. Use the National Trust calendar.
Location: Lodge Park, Aldsworth, Gloucestershire GL54 3PP; Sherborne Estate Ewe Pen Barn car park GL54 3DT
Lodge Park is a surviving seventeenth-century grandstand, built for entertainment and viewing deer coursing. Its history is quite different from a conventional country house. The surrounding Bridgeman landscape and the wider Sherborne Estate add a countryside visit to the building.
Two different visits
Lodge Park opens on selected dates with paid admission. Sherborne Estate walks are a separate outdoor option, with paths through a working landscape and water meadows. Choose the appropriate car park: Lodge Park’s parking is available on its open days; Ewe Pen Barn serves the estate.
Ground and access
Estate paths include grass, earth and stone, with uneven or flooded ground in wet weather. Keep dogs on leads. Only assistance dogs enter the grandstand; ordinary dogs can use permitted outdoor areas. The upper floor involves stairs, so read the access guide if that matters to your party.
